The Colorado School of Mines participates in an annual competition hosted by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Each year, fourth-year civil engineer students create a concrete canoe as a culmination of their past studies. This canoe is then shared with regional universities and a panel of judges, with the hopes of continuing on to nationals. I was commissioned to design the cover of their technical report, which was shared with the judges and spectators during the competition.
